This
page is meant to be a list of sometimes serious, sometimes funny,
sometimes
quirky, but always useful -- in one way or another -- links to
other
sites. I am
even occasionally reviewing sites.
If
you find an inappropriate site listed here, please
so I can
review and remove it if
necessary.
If
you would like to trade your link with me, please
. I will make banner/button trades of
comparable weight. When
you e-mail,
please
give the URL of the page on
which
you have placed a link to this site. For
a
banner exchange,
right-click
my
banner at the top of this page and paste
it
onto
the page where you wish
it to
appear. Also,
please add www.BangkokAtoZ.com
somewhere near the
banner --
that's so the search engines find it and record it.
NO
pornographic or other offensive sites will be accepted, "offensive"
being
defined
by
the Web Master -- that's me -- alone (and whose decision is at my sole
discretion). For
starters, in
addition to pornography falling under the
offensive label are hate sites
and illegal sites.
Any submitted site must
in
*some* way relate to Thailand.
Now
to the links!

I am not familiar with this
organization, but got an e-mail from the folks there asking me
to put their link
here.
The organization sounds
intriguing, offering as it does 1-day and overnight trips by bicycle
in and
around Bangkok, trips sometimes involving a bit of train travel.
The company's website says the
cost of tours range US$20-22, and that's pretty much of
a bargain.
I'm thinking about taking one of
the tours, and if I do so, I'll be sure to write a trip report
in "The Rounds."

See http://www.HeroicStories.com
for details.
I've been a subscriber to this free e-mail
newsletter that comes out every Tuesday and Friday for quite awhile now, and strongly recommend
it. It's completely devoted to nice stories about people, sometimes people
who do something heroic on an epic scale, but also ordinary folks who exhibit
their brand of quiet heroism in more modest ways. With the world so full
of negative news, I look forward to every edition of Heroic Stories -- it's
invariably greatly uplifting, and gives a much-appreciated break from the
constant stream of news about conflicts. It doesn't cost anything, and
unsubscribing is easy, so why not give it a try? I think you'll be glad
you did.
Fred Reed is an expatriate U.S.
writer living near Guadalajara, Mexico. His website contains articles and
links to buy his two books to date. He has extensive journalistic
experience.
Fred is most assuredly not
politically correct, and he sometimes takes up topics some may find offensive --
or they may find his take on them unpalatable. But even if you disagree
with him, he writes most excellently. Discretion advised -- but so is
visiting!
This is a great site for free e-cards of all
types. Most interestingly, the fine folks there have a nice selection of
Songkhran (Thai New
Year) Cards. It's March 31st as I write,
and I had a nice e-mail from Steve at the company asking me to do a link
exchange, something I'm only too happy to do. Long-time BangkokAtoZ.com
visitors know I detest Songkhran as it is *now* practiced, but hey, it IS a
major Thai holiday, bastardized or not!
I've done a bit of exploring of this site, and I
have to say for folks in need of images, videos, and graphics, it is a great
resource. And "in need of" isn't restricted to web masters like me; just
about anyone sometimes he wishes he had a shot of, say, Mount Fujiyama because
it was clouded over the day he went there. Well worth exploring.

This site appears to be out of place here on a
web site dedicated to Bangkok

Christopher Knight has a number of web sites

His Ezine Articles site is exactly that --

Below are a number of links to a
series of Thailand-related web sites that
appear to
be quite good, though I've not had time yet (April 20, 2005) to

and even those I have visited I have to explore more.
But the group is
certainly
wide-ranging right across the map of the Kingdom.

Two sites owned and operated by my good
friend Dean Barrett, an American author with many years experience
living in Asia -- and writing about it, especially in fiction format.
I like Dean's writing before I had a clue
who he is; he used to write a column for a Hongkong newspaper during the
years I lived and worked in Macau, a column called "Uncle Yam Cha" that
always made me laugh.
He has written a number of books,
including the popular, controversial among feminazis (not ladies merely
seeking equality, but who appear to be determined to crush men)
Thailand: Land of Beautiful Women. (The
link takes you to a longish essay about the genesis of the book.)

Some people think Stickman's site is only about
the bar scene, but there is far more
on
his site than that. He has tons of
useful information on a wide variety of things,
and is
quite knowledgeable.
He does a weekly column he puts online every Sunday
at 6:00
P.M. (Bangkok time)
that is quite informative. He also does private
investigations.
Be aware that Stickman does discuss adult themes
in a frank manner, so parents
may
wish to monitor their children's viewing of
the site, and sensitive adults offended
by
such matters may prefer to avoid it.
But if neither of those caveats apply to you --
visit his site!
